	Masks have been worn throughout the world for thousands of years. They served an important social purpose of keeping everybody on equal terms. In Venice in particular the concealment of identity was paramount but now the use of masks is limited to the Carnival festivities. My piece combines the face mask with the fan to produce this unusual 'mask fan'.   This fan contains 25,519 Delica beads in 123 different colours.
